[PSUBS-MAILIST] Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Pressure hull framing options.

Hi Brent

The frame distance in the diver chmaber is longer as the normal frame distance because of the huge bottom exit

and therfore we decide to reinforce this area all around with the 8 longitudinals. Also two of them are use as support

for the bottom exit. two more longitudinals are reinforce the sail hatch cylinder botom conetion to the pressure hull.

Yes the motorcycle muffer should reduce the noice of the high pressure air. But dont work well - so we decide to replace this unit by a self designed unit in the future.

Hello Carsten,

Thanks for those pictures and drawing. I really wanted to see those and hope to make good use of them in future projects.  The drawing I had seen some years ago was a front cross section view of the diver lockout, showing the 8 longitudinal support members in it. I had taken that to mean you had planned to have those through the entire hull. Why only put them in the diver lockout?  Is it to reinforce the H ring rolled on edge that is supporting the smaller head leading to the control room?

I noticed there is what looks like a motorcycle muffler for reducing the hiss of incoming high pressure air into the diver lockout. Is that what it is, and if so does it work well for you? We need a better muffler setup for are hyperbaric chambers. We are using the tiny crushed brass balls type muffler. They don't work that well.
