Did he charge you $100/hour for that tidbit?

Hello Ray,

I was aware of most of the information you stated. But I didn't know Dale wasn't comfortable being underwater with his health troubles. He sure did a nice job on building Snoopy. It looks like Alec has been really enjoyed owning Snoopy. I'm sure I will learn a hell of a lot from refitting my K-250, as well as operating it. Those experiences will be very important in preparing to build my first scratch built sub.

I never figured I'd own a canary yellow submarine, but it will be a lot of fun.  People really get a kick out of it. I also never though I would own a classic VW Beatle. But if I'm to do it right, I figured I would need to tow the yellow submarine with a yellow VW Beatle. ;)'

I'll have to find a 4X4 baja version in order for it to have enough power and weight to properly tow the sub.

Karl Stanley was telling me, that he mixed two different yellow's together to get the color he wanted after his latest refit.

Hi Brent,

Dale Heinzig was the original builder and owner of Snoopy. Dale's health declined to where he wasn't comfortable being underwater on his own. Dale sold Snoopy to Alec.

Ray

Hello Alec,

I just noticed that there are a whole series of building pictures of your K-250 under Dale Heinzig's sub project build page that I had not seen before for some reason. Perhaps that's part of the new fancy site Jon has whipped up.

In those pictures, I was looking at your dome and was interested to know if Greg Cottrell made the dome?  Was it blow from a 1 inch sheet of acrylic as speced in the plans, and what type of acrylic was used?

I had been wanting to see better pictures of a K-250's VBT, and there are some in the build pictures, so that is very helpful.  Do you have any really good pictures of the interior of yours sub as it is configured now?

Brent Hartwig
