I understand that a new Tower has been constructed at SUBASE NLON. The old one was out of service a lot but I did get a chance to make an ascent in it.

While in the service in Groton/New London, The escape tower was down due to faulty lighting...I thought myself lucky to miss this training as I was nervous about letting out my air while underwater. Now, I wish I coud have had the thing work!
