Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] New Museum Hamburg Germany

Jurgen's post reminds me of my visit to the Deutches Museum in Munich one afternoon in January 1980.
I sure wish i'd been able to spnd a week there!
They had the U-1 of early 1900s entirely there except it was sliced open on one side.
There was a miniature from WWII there also.

FTM, the Imperial War Museum in London has a one man WWII U-boat.

I have also been to the US Navy Station in Guam, Agana?, which in front of the CPO club has a WWII
Japanese miniature sub.

Subject: [PSUBS-MAILIST] New Museum Hamburg Germany

Dear Psubbers
I was saturday in the International Maritime Museum of Hambrug. It oppened Wendsday. It is a very nice museum with ten floors.  Has a nice diorama with the history of submarines, Life on board of submarines in WWII and WWI and some other points about the modern military subs in Gemany like the 212.  It has also two midgetsubs in the groundfloor a Seehund and most rare a Molch both look very well  and are in good shape.
So there is one more reason to visit Hamburg to see subs, midgetsubs and the biggest russian diesel electric submarine.
Best wishes
Jürgen
