Have just heard from the Research Vessel (R/V) Argo Maine
home ported in Castine, Maine. Some of the crew and the vessel have been
made available as a moored mothership to support sub ops. They have also
made moorings available across the river in Smith’s Cove in an effort to
increase in-water sub ops time. Water depth in Smith’s Cove is 30-40
feet and out of the high currents that will be experienced in the river at any
times other than slack water.. If we do not avail ourselves of this option,
the Argo’s crew have provided great local knowledge for operating
in the MMA pier area. R/Jay Respectfully, Jay
