I've discussed those tanks with Greg. He is
using them for variable ballast, but only as SOFT tanks. He carries them
inside the cabin, and lets water into them until the boat is neutrally
buoyant.At depth the tanks are not connected to outside pressure, they are
just water containers inside the cabin. He does not have any means of expelling
water from them at depth, although he can of course pump water out once he has
surfaced again.

On the VBT.....Greg turned me on to a great solution. There's a Plastic
high pressure propane tank available now called "lite" or something. Google it
as "propane tank lite" and you'll find it. I'll be using that tank because it
has multiple connections, doesn't rust, and you can see how much it's filled.
The 30 gallon fork lift fuel tank is only $200 and change. I can't buy or build
