RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Camera system

Title: Message
Probably the most simple camera you can find is just a used CamCorder from Ebay... the reason being that if you get a Board camera you will not be able to add filters or a wide lense or anything like that... Also a small upright style camera like a Sony pc9 and its relitives or similar from other companys are small and will best handle different light conditions and will also record your sound... (Sound can make ALL THE DIFFERENCE) You can then make up a cable to your DVD recorder or even better just record on the MiniDV tape.. You can get a one button remote that turns the camera on and records showing a red light. These are SO USEFULL and I get them from www.helmetcamera.com   ...

If it is SIZE your worried about and need a Small Camera weill that same sight have a SOny 'Bullet" camera for about $350.00, these come with 3 lense options and will probably be the one I use for my Periscope...

Let me know if you need to know more..

Dean, Do you have any recommendations for a board level camera and lens? I am in the process of putting a camera system on my sub. I am using a DVD recorder and a color camera right now but I am looking for a better camera.

Thanks
