David, Nice camera, but I am looking for some general guide lines on what size CCD chip, lux, TVL and lens.

Gary, You are in luck! I have just put together a small color camera within one of those PVC housings and it should be good to 500' when properly constructed (I used "goop" as a last minute sealant on this prototype and slightly damaged this back plexiglass wafer...goop is not good for this application) This camera was obtained from e-bay for around $60.00 and the monitor was a portable color tv bought at a local fund raiser for a buck. This setup is one of the demonstrations for this years psub convention. It is easy to make, works well, and even has its own light supply. It operates on 12vdc. These underwater cameras are listed on e-bay and are yellow with a steel weight that hangs under the bottom. These as supplied are good to 60'. David Bartsch

Dean, Do you have any recommendations for a board level camera and lens? I am in the process of putting a camera system on my sub. I am using a DVD recorder and a color camera right now but I am looking for a better camera.
Thanks
