Hi Emile. Chrome doesn't resist corrosion that well, I agree, but if its an
easily accessible part, a good coat of wax before a dive, and rigorous washing
after the dive can work to protect it from the air/salt. Much like a sail
boat or fishing boat fittings/railings, etc. Stainless is obviously better. One
nice thing about chrome though, sure looks nice. Frank D. (old harley
