Hi Guys,
Sounds as if I am wanting the same port with about 18" radius or Do of 36"
and a diameter of about 25-26" giving a View port opening of about 20
inches. I am thinking about 2" thick Acrylic. Wanting about 4 of these view
ports 1 on top, one in front and one each side.
If there were standard ports available it would help.  Going back to
Stachiws to finalise.  Maybe Greg could do a mini production run.

yes, I think we are talking about the same thing, the metal the
acrylic is mounted in.  I am using the Stachiw book, but it has
gaps in about the viewport housings/thru-hull mounts.  Things like
"K is selected on the basis of structural analysis" (where K is
some value I want to know), but no other information obtaining
or estimating K.

I'm currently researching spherical sector viewports with a
square edge.  The lip (side wall) of the viewport housing/thru-hull
will take part of the pressure of the viewport, as well as the
flat, contact surface.  (For flat viewports, the flat contact
surface takes all the pressure and not the lip, which is
just used to keep the viewport in place and for attaching the
retaining ring).  I cannot find information in the Stachiw
book about how thick the lip needs to be.

I plan to over build, but I'd like to know by how much I'm
over building.
