We definately don't take offense to announcements of products that offer
potential solutions to our specific needs.  Can you please have your sales
person contact me off-list?  I did google searches on "pinger" and
"hydrophone", and mixed in "acoustic" with both of those keywords but didn't
get any hits on your website.  I'd also be interested in learning more about
your company.  The website says you are located in CA and RI, but I assume
the business phone is in CA since I got a message that the office didn't
open until 8:30am or something like that and I called around 10:30am
eastern.

At the risk of offending listmembers, a somewhat shameless plug:

Desert Star Systems makes small pinger/pinger receiver sets.  We have two
models; the scout and the sport.  Pricing is $298 USD for a scout set and
$549 USD for the sport.  A set includes one pinger and one receiver.  The
scout pinger itself is $139 USD.

They are typically used by divers to return to the anchor line, but are
frequently used to mark equipment.  Standard depth rating is 300m.

I could also offer some support if anyone wanted to modify the device
(external power, seawater switch, etc.)
