RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Rotary Table for Drilling Viewport Thru-hulls and the Like

That is a good plan Jon.  I'll make a note of it.

Hi all,

Can we differentiate between viewport and a viewport thru-hull in our discussions?  I'm concerned that talk about drilling holes in the viewport can lead to an insinuation that we are discussing drilling through the actual acrylic viewport which compromises the strength of the acrylic and is not allowable under ABS and ASME guidelines.  Can I suggest referencing the piece as a "thru-hull" or "mounting" for the viewport?  Sorry to be so sensitive about this, but there's a good chance that someone reading this thread without looking at the links provided will come away with the impression that you are discussing the acrylic viewport itself.
