RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] emergency communications
I think that it will take a computer program to transmit and the same program to receive it and then decode. We have seen different programs on the net that do just that. It would be interesting to see if it is possible to use a small hand held PC to send thru speaker underwater to a receiver above to a PC and see if it would decode correctly.
