Think carefully about towing an antenna / umbilical with your sub.  In ROV
applications, much of the available propulsive power of the vehicle is consumed
just pulling the umbilical through the water. A small diameter cable doesn't
sound like much, but 500 feet of it is a different story.

Best electrical connections for this sort of stuff I have used are connectors
made by Impulse (www.impulse-ent.com)
