friends for now
MT,
I looked at 4 homes in the age
restricted park and naturally I liked the most expensive. It's the one
that's 1854 sq ft.
First the pluses.
The master bedroom is 24' x 14' with
two large closets and a door that leads to a outside deck which is about 4' x
6'. The bath has a separate shower and tub.
The kitchen is large 14' x 12' and has
an island with a stove top on it. It has lots of cabinets and a
dishwasher.
What they call the family room, which
I think would be a better dining room is 10' x 10'.
There's a dining area that's an
extension of the living room and a family room off of the kitchen which I
think would be better suited as the dining room.
There's another room 21' x 12' that
would make either a nice den or office and it has a big closet it could also
be a third bed room if needed.
The living room with what they call
the dining area is 34' x 13' and it has a real front door on
the opposite side from the carport.
There is a nice sized screened in
porch that you could put a table and 4 chairs and still have room to move
around.
The car port is nice and it has two
sheds back to back and the wall that separates them could be removed and
turned into a nice shop area for my tools.
It has a fenced in back yard.
The fence is wire, but that's probably all that's needed.
It even has a utility room with a
washer and dryer and lots of cabinets.
It even has a sprinkler system that
you can control, set the timer and forget about it. I also like the
landscape; it needs some attention, but nothing drastic.
Now the minuses.
The walls are all paneling and the
kitchen cabinets are the cheap kinds that they put in mobile homes in the
80's.
The worse is that the carpet in the
master bedroom is bright red and the master bath is painted
rose.
These are all things that can be
fixed, so it's not a baggy.
The only problem is that they need to
see the W2's from the last two years and they are in VA. I have '06 on
my computer and can print it out, but will probably have to wait till after
January when I file the '07 return to apply for a loan. On the plus
side, nothing is moving as far as real estate so I really don't have to worry
much.
Phil

RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] au revoir my friends for now
We all
have to make tough decisions; which is more important?, spouses or
submarines !
Fellow
Psubbers,
After several years of intense involvement and
study in this fascinating subject, the time has unfortunately come that I
have to step aside. I wont be leaving the mailist, just filing directly to
a dedicated mailbox. I just won't be as involved anymore but will on
occasion, pop in to see what's going on.
A combination of
life's commitments, lack of spousal interest, and the logistic realities
that we have all discussed so many times, preclude my pursuing a
submersible project at this time. Hopefully, someday in full retirement if
time and circumstances present themselves, I will be in a position to
reconsider. If I am able, I will make an attempt to attend the '09'
convention if in Florida.
I take from this experience a
wealth of knowledge gained from my interactions with people on this
list and, newly found CAD skills....not a bad deal at all! I could list
the names of those responsible for this but, I wont...you know who you
are! Please feel free to contact me at any time via my regular
inbox.
Au Revoir for now my friends
Joe
