RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Double O-Ring On A Hatch
Greetings Carsten,
I would expect that if the outer O-Ring fails, that it would be great to have a back-up or even two. With subs we have so many things that have back-ups, why not back-up O-Rings? I plan to use stainless steel for my hatch flanges for lower maintenance.
Why does it seem that I see allot more small diameter O-Rings then large ones? The larger ones have a longer distance to compress then the smaller ones. If your hatch bottoms out on the metal surface then if the pressure is great enough the water can start to go around the O-Ring, right?
Regards,
Brent Hartwig
