RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] SCUBA Limits

Joe,

I've been looking at the RC Sub depth and speed control little units, and they might be able to be worked into a board by James Long. Some thing like this one in the link below.

Hi Phil,

The encouraging part is the feasibility the "scary" part of course...the cost!

"..........is all convenience and non-essential control and monitoring........."

Precisely my plan, only I call it "toys", right down to the Interphase scanning sonar. All of those battery monitoring systems are easy "off the shelf" items at West Marine (gas sniffers included) but, the auto-hover / auto-depth feature, ....now that's special!

Won't be doing any pipeline work with mine Phil, my whole ship "is" a toy! But I do plan do do lots of nighttime photography / video work on the shallow shelf off the Florida coast and the Keys, so "toys" that can help feel around  and hold position.......would be very nice!

Joe

>set up exactly the way you want it for the subs distance above the bottom,
>then tap the screen and have the sub maintain that distance above bottom no
>matter much much the bottom contours vary.(have to reset for cliffs, tho')
>Most efficient, but not essential.
