Hello Frank,
Looking at your arrangement, I was thinking that if you make the landing skids larger, as well as let them protrude further down below the sub and add some weight to them, then that would help with stability issues. Also if you make the skids independently releasable drop weights, it could add to your safety factor. I wouldn't use the skid drop weights as the primary drop weight, but as back-up for the one or more drop weights oriented in-between the skids.

Frank,It's cool looking, but I'd figure the topweight surfaced is going to be pretty fierce, half the hull weight, plus hatch and hardware, it looks like. How about a short trunk and dome hatch, then invert the tanks on the centerline. That way you could stick a couple of big ports below center and forward for two folkses to peer through, and with an overlapping field of vision, have good overall visibility to the front. I like the double ellipse, though. Always have. Cousteau got me into this mess, so I guess that's no big surprise.Vance

Hi Joe. I have a picture on frappr of the current project. It shows the motors and ballast tanks and should make clear the arrangements. As I said, I'm more of a pencil and paper kind of guy, and this was my attempt to share the project with you guys. Sure doesn't look like the nice drawings you all make, but the basic shape is there.Try this link, maybe it will get you there.Frank D.
