[PSUBS-MAILIST] 2007 Conference Update
Hello Psubbers,
It's time for another update on the 2007 PSUBS Conference in Holland MI,
August 17, 18, and 19. The latest and greatest details can be found on the
web site at www.psubs.org/convention/2007
1) **APPAREL**. LAST CALL FOR T-SHIRTS!!!
If you have already ordered a T-Shirt, thank you. If you want to purchase a
PSUBS T-shirt, the pre-event price is $15.00 and I need your order
information immediately. I will be placing the order July 9. I will most
likely have some spares available for sale at the convention, however you
will be taking your chances on style, size, and colors. Also, t-shirts at
the convention will cost $20.00. Save yourself $5.00 and order before July
9. You know you want one...just do it.
2) REGISTRATION. If you have not already registered for the convention,
please do so ASAP. The cost is $40.00 per person and includes all
activities including the dive site, Friday BBQ, access to speakers on
Saturday, testing your skills in "The Excrutiator", and public display of
submersibles on Sunday. ID tags for registered participants will be
distributed Friday morning in the hotel main lobby, and Saturday morning in
front of our reserved conference room.
3) BBQ. Family members who do not want to attend the seminars on Saturday
are welcome to join us at the BBQ for a small fee to cover food expenses.
We are asking $6.00 for Adults and $3.00 for children. Please note this is
a basic BBQ consisting of hamburgers and hot dogs, chips, soda/water. If
you have something special you want to grill up for yourself, feel free to
bring it with you.
4) DIRECTIONS/CONTACTS. Directions to all events, including street
addresses, are on the website at www.psubs.org/convention/2007. Please
print out the maps, look up your own, or set your GPS devices accordingly.
Additionally, we will leave directions for the welding demonstration, dive
site, restaurants, and public display at the Hotel front desk. Registered
participants will receive cell phone contact numbers in case they get lost
in town, or miss a departure time and want to catch up with us. We will
also leave contact phone numbers with the hotel front desk.
5) AGENDA/EVENTS. Please visit www.psubs.org/convention/2007/agenda.html
for the latest list of events and times. This is still subject to change,
but very stable at this point. Also, please note that our first event is a
welding demonstration at Dan Brewer's work shop bright and early Friday
morning. We will meet in the lobby and carpool as necessary. Departure
time between 9:00 and 9:15.
6) TRANSPORTATION. All participants are responsible for their own
transportation to/from all events. If you need a ride to/from anywhere,
please send an email message to personal_submersibles@psubs.org with the
subject "NEED RIDE" and details in the message body. We'll do our best to
coordinate rides for those that need them.
7) FOOD/MEALS. With the exception of the Friday Noon BBQ, all participants
are responsible for their own meals. The traditional lunch during the
seminar on Saturday are "sub sandwiches". We will be coordinating ordering
and delivery of lunch from QUIZNO's for those who want to join in this
traditionaly lunch. You are free of course to coordinate your own lunch
plans anywhere else you might want to eat. Please check out QUIZNO's lunch
menu at www.quiznos.com/menu.asp and consider options for lunch. Prior to
entering the seminar Saturday morning, leave your lunch order and money with
us. We will phone quiznos with the orders and have them delivered to us
around noon.
8) SUBMARINES. Please consider bringing your sub, regardless of what
development stage it is in. Whether it is fully functional, undergoing
maintenance, or under construction, we want to see it. Send email to
jon@psubs.org so we can advertise that your sub will be there.
More info in a couple of weeks! Questions? Email me!
