RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Convention

Ken,

I just checked the charts in Garmin’s Map Source BlueChart Americas v8 software program and couldn’t find any wrecks in towable distance.  I converted NOAA AWOIS snags, wrecks, and obstruction data into the Garmin format and only found two wrecks within reasonable distance of the breakwater at Holland, MI.

Burlington (RECNUM 2147, SYSTEMNUM 2064) ~372 ft. SW of the south breakwater end in ~20 fw (N42.7716861111111, W86.2167083333333)

Argo (RECNUM 2148, SYSTEMNUM 2065) ~0.7 miles north of the north breakwater end in ~18 fw (N42.7833527777778, W86.2167083333333)

A skimmer afloat is but a submarine, so poorly built it will not plunge.

Subject: RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Convention

I've been checking on listed Long's and Lat's  for a verified shipwreck which is within boat-towable range of the Inlet off of Lake Michigan where the Convention is held.  There was talk of towing some out there and viewing on-location using psubs...   I had offered to be a deep-water support diver.  But other than that scenario, can you guys use an extra support diver for normal convention activities?

Ken
