.....Their version of Hunley. A quick translation of the general story..the thing was lost in trials in the Bay of Valparaíso, Archival reference to two paragraphs in the newspaper dated May 3 , 1866.
Appears to have a tremendous amount of release weights along the centerline.
Apparently, there were varying accounts of 8 to 11 lost. If I read it correctly, the commander / inventor left behind 7 kids (different times).
