Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] New Website.
Dean,
No worries, I am behind in email myself by about a month now.
What you see there with Alvin Jr, is purely for surface flotation and
stability in 3 foot coastal swells. Material likely to be composites for the
fore and aft sections, and just maybe, sheet for the saddle tanks. (Ease of
construction for the shape).
Weight yet to be determined when I have a chance to input detail design work
into the software. Too heavy, would require syntactic foam but I doubt it,
look at what K boats carry for lead as it is!
None of this likely to happen now for another two years as I am renovating a
property and otherwise caught up in life's demands.

Joe I am a little behind on my e-mail sorry.
Looking at your conceptual design (assuming it is based on a k-350
You are real close to my design except my outer hull will be complete
top and bottom. I guess I am wondering on leaving the underside so
exposed to little bumps and such? Have you run into a weight problem
or just not as worried about as I?
I am planning on 4 outer rings 1/4 x 3" clamped around the pressure hull
and then welding and bolting outer shell to it. Trying to protect the
pressure hull as
much as possible.
Starting to build this month and am trying to get in some sea trials this
year and up here in northern Minnessota thats not long
