Do we have anyone that can write a technical paper on how to modify a minn-kota for air-compensated operation?  How about oil compensated?
 
For air compensation, do you use some kind of pressure sensing valve similar to a dive-regulator that adds air dynamically in reference to the surrounding water pressure?  Also, how do you depressurize the motor when you rise to the surface after being at depth?

No, they need modification in one of several ways. But, at a grand apiece from the vendor, it's a cheaper place to start than some others I could think of. Vance

What about Minn Kota motors? Can they be used at greater depths 
without any modifications ?
