I am also a past military diver loooong ago, I do think it is a good idea for all
PSUBERS to be scuba qualified. From what I have seen here in the states
the level of civilian diver certification is not a very high level of capability. They do
not even teach free ascents. I can not beleive this as I am one very concerned on
saftey. At depths of 140' or so one can free acent very safely and without the
need for additional air on the way up. To me relying on mechanical devices, which
all will fail at some point, is just not right
