I still think if I ever want to build another submarine it should beat any concept ever build up today. Euronaut is still a normal workhorse and conventional building.
If you want to go deeper, faster, longer and cheaper you have to thing unconventional.
If I build something in concret it will be 24,5 m long, 4,2 meter high (over sail) and 8,5 m beam over wing. 70 ts displacemnet and 6000 feet deep diver. 2 x 30 kw Thruster engine on the stern in front of the deep rudders. Maybe Lithium Ionen battery or fuelcell and a small dieselcharger.
Seagoing boat. Maybe some 300.000 euros in concret including equipment
instead the around 30.000.000 euros a goverment would pay for a simmilar devise..
But first I have to finish the Euronaut still one year away or more from finish. Takes longer than expect. Material is 85 % in - but still some 35 % workhours to do.
I should ask a friend about a FE-Analysis about the concept to see what it really can hold. And that the same in steel - and than see the cost of both concept. My feeling told me that in concret it would be much cheaper.
