RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] hydraulic efficiency questions

Frank,

When tourist subs were real hot, I did a grad paper evaluating the market and it quickly pointed out that there really wasn’t much of a market for them.  A lot of money was squandered, just wish I knew where al of the hulls are now!  As part of that, met the lady that was party of the USCG team evaluating the safety issues that the Coast Guard would have to monitor.  There was a great publication out of that with a contingency planning tree that would be very applicable to PSUBS if I remember correctly.

Gotta get off line and finish packing.  Off to the States for a week and will spend one day filming the U-505 in Chicago.

R/Jay

Jay. I think you are right about the " positive buoyancy " requirement in the coast guard guidelines being for tourist subs. Someone sent us the link and I will try to retrieve it and post it again. It was a good read. Frank D.
