You need to calculate the power loss from the drive motor through the pump, lines, hydraulic motor, couplings, and prop.  Just because the pump is 90% efficiency, that means the other components account for 60% power loss.

for those interested HALDEX makes a pump that boast a 90% efficientcy over all and low noise. it is discribed as
