Truly fascinating!

Reading the reminisces of sailors that were on the Rs made me realize how little has been published about sailor's lives prior to WWII. I can recall McKenna's THE SAND PEBBLES and a book of short stories with an incomplete novel called

THE SONS OF MARTHA and that was about it.
