[PSUBS-MAILIST] "Split hull" question.
Gentlemen:
I don't know if this topic has been previously discussed, as the archive
search feature on PSUBS isn't working. Please pardon if this is an old
topic.
I was wondering if anyone has built a pressure-hull in sections that are
bolted together. I've seen several large-scale subs that have used this
approach, and was wondering if it also works on the PSUB-sized boats.
My other question regarding sectioned hulls is: Has anyone seen a
multi-section hull where the seam was lateral? (Think of two bathtubs bolted
together, one atop the other.)
My interrest in this is that I'm considering how to build a small hull and
want to be able to easily maintain the inner workings.
Thanks,
NP
