Hope this helps . . . it's a cut'n paste from one of my posts.

"I'd intended on using multiple, second stage regs in a manifold to breathe
air into the cabin.  My reasoning goes with [a] redundancy [b] providing
several inlets [at the mouthpieces] for air to move through to avoid loud,
screaming air from a single orifice, and [c] avoiding potential freezeup by
distributing the compensating air through several first stage regs as well."
