Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] a sub can be blow up or roll: fiction Science or 007?

Hi Fanta,
Your English is understandable but if I knew what kind of accent you have it would make it more pleasant to read.  What is your native language?

Theoretically you could make a sub using a inflatable balloon type affair,  I had an idea one time for a " drift sub" that would be like a hot air balloon where you could drift with a known current and be able to go up and down.

You might be able to make a balloon type arrangement but instead of hanging a gondola below the balloon, you just had a big balloon, that maybe had some reinforcing to keep the shape, and you would sit in the air space of the balloon.  You would need enough weight (located at the bottom of the balloon) in order to submerge the bubble of the balloon.  You could control your up and down by adding compressed air or letting it out.  The bottom of the balloon would be open so that you could swim out.  In the top of the balloon , where the air bubble is ,  you would need to have some clear vinal windows so you could see out, or something similar.

Say the thing was 10 ft diameter balloon,  and it was half full of air,  you could have a platform inside the balloon that floated on the surface of the inside water level.  When you came up through the bottom you would just climb up onto the platform.

Just a thought
