[PSUBS-MAILIST] Cryogenic Tempering

Has any one heard of or used Cryogenic Tempering?
The freezing parts from -150 to -300 degreed F to reduce internal stress?
I just heard of it. Apparently NASA uses it for space components and Racecar people use it to reduce wear on engine components and provide better dimensional stability.
It seems expensive though.
But might it be useful in a submersible?
