Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] breathing air regulator
Hello (I'm not sure what is your name so I will call you silkyn)
My "pressure regulator" is in fact an idea Bill and Dan and I worked on.
I use 2 water sensors (basicaly 2 wires and when water touch the 2 wires,
contact is made. Like a mercure switch but water instaid of mercure).
The 2 sensors are place inside a tube at 2 different heigh. The tube is
under the sub. The top end of te tube is connected to the bottom of the sub.
When the sub goes down, water infiltrate the tube and goes up. Water touch
the first sensor = nothing happen. Water touch the second sensors = the
electronic circuit send a signal to open a electrical operated valves (a 2
way pneumatic cylinder valves. also known as a 5/2. 5 openings, 2
positions).
That valve let air inside the cabin. And push the water in the tube down.
Water goes below second sensor = valve is still open. Water goes below the
first sensor = circuit stop the valve from entering air inside the cabin.
So in theory, water level should always be between the 2 sensors. I have
installed a small clear water reservoir inside the cabin. So if more water
come in then air, i can stop descend and wait for air to catch up.
I hope this help... I also have a manual back-up air valve.

Subject: [PSUBS-MAILIST] breathing air regulator
Hey,
I recall a conversation about a digital air regulator (for ambient sub)
approximately a week ago, the subject commented that it made more noise
than he had expected and he wished to retain a proportion of his
sanity.lol.
I am looking for a similar or the same devise.
Its purpose: to regulate the volume of breathing air going from the
compressed air tanks into the sub.
My problem: I have no experience with choice of air regulator for a sub
and I would greatly appreciate any advise and would enjoy reading about
other regulator systems for ambient psubs.
A question: if I need 6L\m of breathing air at 1ATM then do I only require
3L\m at 2ATM
Dose anyone have any suggestions as to what I may have not considered or
know where I can obtain this or similar product.
