Hi, Chip:
Just a quick comment on your air replenishment idea/dislike of pure
02 in cabin: The cabin gas in a one-at sub is typically air. There's simply
no place for the nitrogen that was in the sub (when you closed the hatch)
to go - and no differential pressure driving force to cause you to absorb
it. I'm sure others will comment on the 1.5 atmos. over-pressure scheme -
but thought you might like to know about the cabin gas composition - in the
hope that it may turn you onto a standard one atmos system with 02 make-up.
BTW, I don't blame you for wanting to dive off Monterey - it's
absolutely gorgeous in Monterey canyon area - you should consider going
deeper than SCUBA depth, tho' - it really gets awesome from about 600 feet
on down We've done a lot of diving up to 3000 feet in the canyon - superb!
Regards
Phil Nuytten
