Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] new sonic listening devices

In all honesty William,,,,Home land security is way out of hand and is the typical political slap each other on the back knee jerk reaction ....But, If there is a small submarine sneaking around my murky harbor or Norfolk harbor, with a black haired, deeply tanned, Arabic tonged guy inside,,,,,,,, I'd want to know what the hell he's up to.  Dave Banks

I would love to say this is a good news article but it
clearly isnt. It is very disturbing how fast
researchers will turn to the military these days. No
doubt legislation to curb the civilian use of
submersible vehicles is not far off in interest of
homeland security. The military has recently geared up
its underwater defenses lately, for what reasons I
cant fathom. Though unlikely its very possible that
someone diving a personal submarine could be fired
upon by naval forces as a possible threat to a
shipping lane or large port. I have never heard of
terrorists attacking in submarines so I think its all
just a terrible waste of taxpayers money. These new
listening subs coupled with the surveillance drones
they want to send flying all around the US coasts are
sure to stop terrorists since they always come from
the sea right?
