Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Did any of Simon Lake's Russian Submarines see combat?

Hi Larry.

Sorry it took so long to get back with you about your question on whether any of Simon Lake's subs built for Russian saw combat in WW1, but I was looking up

every Simon Lake website I could find trying to find out if any of his subs built for Russia saw combat in WW1.

Finally I found a site that is hosted by his great grandson Jeff Lake. Jeff told me none were used to his knowledge.

I include Jeff Lake's e mail to me below.

Kindest Regards,

Bill Akins.

Looking at the posting about the I 401 found on Hawaii reminded me of something i have wondered about for years: Did any of Simon lake's Russian Subs see combat in WWI? They might have been 10-12 years old when WWI started but the British used their C class in WWI AIR reading.
