A version of spearfishing was planned for a 1969 trip to Loch Nexx.  
Remember Dan Taylor,
the chapo from Atlanta who built "Viperfish" for hunting Nessie?  That's 
the guy who did it.

As described by Roy Mackal in his "Monsters of Loch Ness":

I designed a modification of my biopsy harpoon. and two harpoons, powered
by compressed air, were mounted on the upper part of the bow of Dan's
submarine.  After tests and further modifications, the harpoons (with an
underwater range of 10-15 feet) were passed as acceptable to the team.
