I can't say for certain that it is not aluminum,  But just from looking at the rib structure from the inside the cuts made when they fabricated the ribs seemed like steel to me. The cuts seemed like they were cut with a blow tourch.   I never actually scratched it though, and it was painted.  I can't imagine that it would be aluminum.  I could ask !!
