[PSUBS-MAILIST] Electronics at ambient pressure

I am interested in ambient pressure submersibles and have been pondering a
question about electronics.

What happens to sealed electronic components at say 3ATM. Surely things
such as crystals, capacitors and sealed hard drives, which have an air
cavity within them would crush. Is there a way around this and if so, what
is it?

I am aware that some of the community are seriously into ambient technology
and it appeals to me because of its simplicity, especially as I am really
only interested in shallow water exploration.

I hope someone can enlighten me.

Regards

Graeme
