Ryan,
I'm the author of the spreadsheet, and can tell you that I DON'T KNOW
how accurate it is from an analytical perspective. What I do know is
that it doesn't really matter, because very small fabrication
discrepancies will yield very large variances from the theoretical
failure points.
Please consider it only a design guideline. It is no substitute for
proper unmanned testing. Small fabrication or materials issues can make
your boat fail far before the theoretical depth is reached. For my part,
I'm using a 3:1 safety factor.
Rgds,
Alec

Hi, I am fairly new to this. I am wondering how accurate the hull
failure
calc. spread sheet is??? If it is correct I am building a sub that is
approx. 30' long and 7' dia.. It should be able to stay under for a full
day
with 8 people.
