[PSUBS-MAILIST] annealing of steel
With the kittriridge sub design I know that the "hatch ring" is made of a
much heavier gage steel, I believe 3/4 inch, this is required because of
the hole put in the skin of the cylinder.
>putting a hole in such a thin skin under tension is like putting a hole
in a
balloon. - Ellmer
My question is: when you order your steel cylinder ( 70 grade steel) can
the hole be cut before the steel is fabricated . Can the annealing
process be performed after the hole has been cut so as to strengthen the area
around the hole.
