The up side to building a known quantity is ... well, building a known quantity. The engineering is done and the design is proven. That is a treasure trove of information for and the the neophyte, and cheap at twice the price.

The down side is that by accepting someone else's Model A design, you limit your own options. Where would our own Dr. Phil (Nuytton) or Graham Hawkes be if they let others be their guides? Both of them are experts at converting flights of fantasy to real-time rides.
