Since my sub is a dry ambient,

Could I use some sort of cylinder with a piston that can be moved inside 
with a screw. On one side of the piston, ambient water, on the other side, 
ambient air from inside sub.

You just turn the screw one way to get water in. turn the other way to push 
water out.

What about that?
