I once read a book about this.   It was supposed to happen on
May 5, 2000.   There were four or five groups who, by about
1995, were setting up ways to survive it.   As I recall, most of
them were building aircraft of some sort.   None of them would
reply to mail.

What we need, if we need a conspiracy, is one that gives
us free pressure hulls.
