Inventor is great and a real 3D program . But in the ordinairy AutoCad you can also make a drawing in 3D.  AutoCad LT is 2D.

Welcome!

If you are looking at a CAD package, I use Autodesk Inventor 5. I  know that autocad is 2D which makes it hard to visualise. Inventor is expensive, but it is worth it.
