Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Re: Welcome to the Personal_Submersibles_Disc ussion

Jeremy,

I've got one more thing to say about this thread and then I am done.  I've wasted enough time on it already.  I'm replying to your email because it's quite obvious it's aimed at me. I mean, why didn't you address me directly?
Jeffery was wrong the instant he waltzed on to this site with his flippant, arrogant attitude.  He didn't come to this site humbly and kindly ask what anyone thought about his idea.  He came here with a smug, know-it-all attitude and that's what I really had a problem with.  If he would have come here with a respectful,"I've got an idea, what do you guys think?" disposition, it would have been a totally different story.
Jeremy, you want to talk about the list being tarnished?  Have you ever stopped to think why we hardly ever hear from the heavy hitters in the sub world anymore?  It's because this site is becoming a joke.  When you discuss half baked ideas seriously, it cheapens the whole discussion forum.  The guys who are serious about their craft don't want to be associated.  It's like a novelist who doesn't want to have anything to do with a comic book.  You all need to open your eyes because THIS place is becoming the gossip chat room!
I am a professional in the diving industry and I keep in touch with a lot of those guys we USED to hear from.  The kind of guys we need, the kind that have built or build subs and know what the hell they are talking about(Doc,Carsten,Herve, you guys aside).  When I told one of them I was seriously considering unsuscribing from Psubs, he said the only reason he stays on board is because "it's mostly like reading the funny papers".  He reads it to get a laugh.  Is that what you want???
Jeffery didn't want to learn or be educated, he had it all figured out and he was going to tell us a thing or two.  Even to the very end, he signs off with his arrogant comment about "may your boxes remain forever closed"  He was a lost cause from the git go.
Just step back and look at the bigger picture.

Ty

I for one would like to express my disappointment in this forum.  Instead of engaging someone and coaching them on the pitfalls of subdesign, there are those who have ridiculed or treated ignorance with disdain rather than education.  We cannot educate those who leave this list feeling humiliated. The behavior of some here has been such that the reputation of this list is tarnished.  I would bet that almost everyone here has had an idea they thought revolutionary only to find out it has been done or the physics won't work. I know for me it was disappointing.  The fact that a person came here and was laughed off the forum is in my opinion inexcusable.

Sincerely,
Jeremy Crawford
