Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] OSS bolted frame and sections

Hhhhmmm. Ok, Carsten, here is what I was thinking: The pressure
hull would become a multiple of a predefined section length with
the related tanks being stepped and repeated down the hull and all
internal stuff being bolt in modular. However, I wasn't thinking
that the hull COULD be bolted together. If you know otherwise,
I am excited to say the least. I don't believe that it would increase
the cost. I was simply under the impression from reading books like
Concepts of Sub Design that bolted sections would be unsafe. Is this
not true? If not, the project can be broken down more cleanly and
the entire design made much more flexible for hardly any additional
work or cost. Please advise.

Warren.
