We have a connection with the ISO (International Standards Organisation) and
there is discussions between them and some US administrators to have the US
go metric. The main sticking point seems to be that the US side what a
'different' metric system than what everyone else uses. It appears as if
multiples of 10 is not simple enough. This has been going on for 5 or so
years with no end in site so don't hold your breath.
