Thanks for the tip about Simon Lake, I didn't even know the name. Running a gas engine from a snorkel would be fine for a shallow sub. I want to use my hookah to supply my air and control buoyancy, leaving the noise of the Honda engine on the surface.  Then use trolling motors for thrusters and have the floor open so we can exit for dives. Perhaps a small 2 person cabin with mounted between pontoons that can be flooded. Oh, and a very small second chamber for a small outboard on the aft. The ultimate lake dive platform.
