Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] convention news flash
Ray,
Glad the convention was a success. I hopefully will be able to attend
next year.
On a different note, I know in past discussions, we have brought up the
subject of "Where have all the old subs gone?" I know Vance and Carsten
contributed to those threads, among others, but what if there was a place on
the site where photos could be shown of the boats in their current
condition? I've spotted a couple since I received my Busby and managed to
take a few pictures. For example "Submanaut" (Busby page 40,223) now sits
by the interstate outside of Miami, advertising a go-cart track. Last week
I was in California and went by Scripps Institute to check out the aquarium.
Star III (Busby page 219) sits perched at the entrance to the parking lot,
seemingly welcoming visitors.
If I've been able to spot two over the past couple of months, there has to
be many more scattered throughout the US. Anybody else interested in
helping photo document the current status of these classic subs? Unlike
classic cars and bikes, these babies are one of a kind.
Ty
